OEC Registration Page

Are you ready to embark on a journey to become a certified Outdoor Emergency Care provider with the Lee Canyon Ski Patrol? Joining our OEC class is a straightforward process designed to equip you with the essential skills for ski patrolling. We accept enrollments year-round, so you can start your journey whenever you’re ready.

Step 1: Registration

Begin your OEC journey by completing our online registration form. Once submitted, a member of the Lee Canyon Ski Patrol will get in touch with you to assist in finalizing your enrollment.

Step 2: Annual Lee Canyon Dues and Course Fee

To enroll in our OEC class, prospective candidates must fulfill two financial obligations. Firstly, there is an annual fee of $39.00 for Lee Canyon Dues. Additionally, a course fee of $55.00, payable to the Lee Canyon Ski Patrol, is required to cover administrative expenses associated with the OEC Program.  The total fee will be $94.00.

Step 3: National Ski Patrol Dues

Candidates will need create an account on the National Ski Patrol website and pay the National Ski Patrol dues. National dues are $100.00.

Step 4: Start Your Training

After settling all outstanding fees, you’ll gain access to commence your OEC Training.   There are many options to obtain OEC text book including from Amazon or directly from JBLearning, however we recommend purchasing the book from National Ski Patrol.   To purchase from NSP you will need to have your NSP account created.  Once your account is created, go to https://nsp.org/ and click on SIGN IN on the upper right hand corner of the screen.  Log in with your credentials and click on NSP STORE.  Once in the store click on the NSP SPECIFIC dropdown and click on EDUCATION and then OEC.  You will be able to purchase the Outdoor Emergency Care – 6th Edition (OEC 6) from the website.  The cost is $93.71.

Step 5: Training Completion

After completing both the online and in-person training sessions, you’ll become eligible to take the written final exam and the final skills test. These tests are scheduled three times a year:

  • First Saturday of November
  • First Saturday of January
  • First Saturday of June

Candidates will receive instructions on how to register for the OEC written and practical exam through the National Ski Patrol.  The cost of the final examination is $150.00.  More information on how to pay this will be provided as you get closer to the testing date.

Step 6: Certification
